This is already true, and will remain true even if you succeed at not losing any of your own skill. I know some people say different, but for me the speedup in my dev process by collaborating with AI is real.
I think ultimately our job as a senior will be half instructing the juniors on manual programming, and half on instructing the AI, then as AI capabilities increase, they’ll slowly shift to 100% human instruction, because the AI can work by itself, and only has to be properly verified.
